Sunshine Coast Blues Festival Success.
Excerpt taken from ‘Rhythms’ Australia’s
Roots and Music Monthly, January 2007 edition, ‘Rhythms
Best of 2006 - Writers’ by Al Hensley, on the Sunshine
Coast Blues Festival.
“The second annual Sunshine Coast Blues Festival. I
was delighted with the attendance, which doubled that of the
previous year. Being smack dab in the middle of one of Australia’s
favourite tourist meccas, the festival drew a significant
amount of overseas visitors and it earned high praise from
audiences and artists alike. Festival-goers this year enjoyed
the added attraction of the new Sunshine Coast Blues Club
Jam Stage where some Main Stage performers voluntarily played
extra sets. Two dozen world class blues acts from South East
Queensland supported headliner Andy Cowan, whose performance
was superb, and the festival’s locally unique Sunday
morning Gospel Brunch was again a highlight”.
